OVERVIEW
The hydromatic water brake is one kind of hydraulic device. It can absorb the power by converting the kinetic energy into the internal friction heat of the working fluid, the working fluid is usually water (when winter it should be antifreeze), and then the heat energy converted from the absorbed mechanical energy during the braking process should be remove and spread away through the circulation of the working fluid.
APPLICATION
In the field of oil drilling, water brakes are mainly used as auxiliary deceleration brakes, which can reduce the speed of the drawworks, that is, the speed of the main drum or the speed of the hook block, to keep the drilling tool evenly devolved at a safe speed.
